This communication aims to present a participatory research approach with feminist activists from Benin in a research context relating to the participation of women in development projects in sexual and reproductive health and rights. The objective is to support the importance of the creation of participatory committees as well as knowledge co-construction workshops involving feminist activists within feminist qualitative research in a North-South context, apart from carrying out interviews and focus groups alone. These activists, holders of activist knowledge, experiential knowledge of great value and deep comprehension of the local context, represent one of the cornerstones of the approach. The participatory approach is thus envisaged as a space of feminist solidarity based both on the collaborative creation, sharing and analysis of knowledge linked to important areas of activism (i.e. women's participation and sexual and reproductive health and rights) for the contribution of relevant and contextual analysis of the women’s participation in sexual and reproductive health projects in Benin as well as on constructive exchanges, networking and mutual support that results from this type of approach. Ultimately, it will also be a question of highlighting the challenges as well as the facilitators of such an approach.
