COVID-19 has changed the way in which community-based work can be conducted. As a result of these restrictions, the IFRC and National Societies have found innovative ways to engage communities. Before those innovations, the Port of Spain Cluster Office in Trinidad (POS CCST) conducted an assessment in 2020 to determine the needs of the region’s thirteen National Societies to work with and serve communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The needs assessment was integral in determining the way forward for the IFRC POS CCST to first identify funding gaps and to secondly lend technical support to the National Societies.
