                                                                                                            The Lead Social Scientist position involves being a part of the global technical advisory team at Rooted in Trust, a multimillion-dollar Internews project financed by BHA. The project's primary objective is to strengthen the information ecosystem and tackle health-related misinformation across 13 humanitarian locations, encompassing Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Colombia, Brazil, Mali, Zimbabwe, DRC, Sudan, and South Sudan. As the Lead Social Scientist, the responsibilities included: ➤ Consolidating the formation of 13 national teams, each comprised of 10 staff members, which included onboarding, supervision, and, technical support. ➤ Supervising the work of community engagement and accountability officers in 13 countries, providing technical support and expertise related to infodemic management, rumor tracking, social listening, research, and social science. ➤ Developing global-level onboarding material on various topics including reality and fact-checking, qualitative analysis, community-centered approaches, and information ecosystems. ➤ Leading and supervising global-level research projects contributing to the emerging field on infodemic management in humanitarian contexts. The research projects included: Turning Social Listening Data into Action (All locations), Inequity Driven Mistrust (Iraq, Brazil, Colombia), and Information Ecosystems Preparedness (DRC, South Sudan, Mali).  |
