Maura's recent research has focused on the humanitarian response to the conflict in Ukraine in Poland and Moldova, responses to irregular migration in Europe, and the humanitarian administration of COVID-19 vaccines in conflict zones. Maura has worked in active conflict zones including Iraq and Syria (2013-2015) and is trained in adaptive leadership and Cynefin methodology to ensure subjects’ voices are at the center of research findings. She is committed to diminishing researcher bias and is committed to partnering with institutions and experts at the sites of her research. Maura works with interviewees to collect narratives of practice. She analyses these narratives to provide insights for clients and practitioners by designing case-based workshops.
