The 5th bi-annual IHSA conference will take place in the Hague the Netherlands. We are very happy to hold our conference on Humanitarian Studies in the International City of Peace and Justice.
The conference will be held from 27 to 29 of August 2018 in the buiding of the International Institute of Social Studies:
2518 AX The Hague
The venue is a 15 min bus ride from The Hague Central Train Station. And the city is easily reached from Schiphol International Airport by a 30 minute direct train, by car/taxi it can take up to an hour due to traffic.
The Conference Schedule will send around and posted on the website in the week of the 18th of July. We expect to have 3 full days, starting on Monday morning around 9 or 10 with the keynote speeches, to continue with the first round of 2 panels after lunch. Tuesday and Wednesday will be 2 full days of panel sessions, most likely from 09.00 to 18.00.
Conference participants are expected to find their own accommodation in The Hague during the conference. There are many hotels in the city that are at walking distance from the venue. We advise to use websites like: booking.com or tripadvisor for a good comparison. Please note that The Hague is a popular tourist destination in the summer, so we recommend to book on time. Feel free to email us your questions if you have difficulties finding a hotel.
– The nearby Carlton Ambassador Hotel offers a 10% discount for our participants (based on availability). You can email them via email@example.com and mention that you will participate in the IHSA Humanitarian Studies Conference.
Make sure to check on time whether you need a visa to travel to the Hague. We would be more than happy to help you with the necessary paperwork. We can only provide visa invitation letters after the conference payment has been paid and your panel and/or paper has been accepted.
