Turkish Red Crescent Academy (Turk Kizilay Akademi)

Founded in 1868, Türk Kızılay (Turkish Red Crescent) is Türkiye’s leading humanitarian organization and a key actor within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. With a vast network of over 300,000 registered volunteers, more than 500 local branches, and 14 international delegations, Türk Kızılay delivers critical humanitarian assistance across local, national, and global levels. Its core services encompass emergency relief, disaster management, social welfare programs, migration support, blood supply services, and healthcare. Beyond immediate relief efforts, Türk Kızılay actively engages in fostering community resilience and promoting long-term development. Its programs address disaster preparedness and response, socioeconomic inclusion of vulnerable populations, humanitarian diplomacy, and humanitarian needs arising from conflicts and crises. IFRC & American Red Cross Global Disaster Preparedness Centre (GDPC)

The American Red Cross and the International Federation Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have established the Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC) as a reference center to support innovation and learning in disaster preparedness. As one of 12 reference centers in the international Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) network, the GDPC aims to enhance disaster management–namely preparedness–capacities of Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies through a service-oriented and demand-driven approach to building community resilience.
