Abstract
Much of the study of humanitarian assistance as a process has been on the post-Cold War period, with some attention to post WW II. However, humanitarian assistance has a significant temporal and geographic timeline, going back centuries and across continents. The Humanitarian Assistance Timeline paper will present an initial portrayal of key humanitarian events over time and place with attention implications of these events to broaden the scope of discussions about the practice of humanitarian assistance.
