This proposal aims to promote the debate on the limits of humanitarianism by answering the question: who and what constitutes humanitarianism? What has been called "forensic humanitarianism" pushes humanitarianism beyond the known margins for this field insofar as it is not a conventional humanitarian action but rather has particular characteristics. Starting from the discussion of the case of the first humanitarian project agreed upon with Argentina and the United Kingdom to identify the bodies of Argentine soldiers who fell in the armed conflict in the South Atlantic buried in the cemetery of the Malvinas Islands, the aim is to address the specificities of this type of missions. and answer the following questions: Are these characteristics distinctive enough to continue considering this type of action as humanitarian? Can they be considered part of a restorative action and not necessarily humanitarian? What are the points in common with conventional humanitarian action, if any?
