Abstract

COAST (www.coastbd.net) is working with disaster management in Bangladesh more than three decades, recently it is involved with Rohingya response too. Recently COAST has received certification on CHS (Core Humanitarina Standard) based quality management and accountability from HQAI (www.hqai.org). As COAST does want to initiate sustainable organization and humanitarian initiative in this regard, since the
begaining it is introduced different policies and practices in respect of participation and accountability in this regard, in fact which are based on (i) information disclosure policy, (ii) complain response mechanism, (iii) orientation and review based on set values where participation and accountability is the key, (iv) whistle blowing policy (v) cross communication but line decision, (v) meeting system for participation and improvisation of plan of operation and (vi) open inclusive coordination with all stakeholders for best use of all resources with highest level of quality services. I do like to depict different best and good practices in this regard in this papers.
