| Bio | Dr. Talita Cetinoglu is currently Lecturer at International Relations and International Organization department of the University of Groningen, teaching at the NOHA Joint Master’s Degree Programme in International Humanitarian Action and at Master in International Relations. Examining aid discourses, policies and practices, her research interests are primarily on humanitarianism and its governance technologies and the politics of project design and programming. She published on the World Humanitarian Summit, cash assistance in humanitarian settings and protection, on Syrian refugees and EU- Turkey policies. With over 13 years of experience in the humanitarian field in senior management roles mostly in Africa and the Middle East, Cetinoglu led various relief projects for the International Rescue Committee and Médecins Sans Frontières where she also served as a member of the Board of Directors of MSF Greek section. She directed and designed research and programmes on areas ranging from medical care, mental health, advocacy, displacement, protection, NGO security management, sexual and gender-based violence and women’s empowerment in disaster and conflict affected settings. Talita Cetinoglu held her B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Bogazici University in Istanbul and a postgraduate Diploma on Forced Migration and Refugee Studies from American University in Cairo. Cetinoglu holds a PhD in Humanitarianism and Conflict Response from the University of Manchester. |
