Bio Laura-Alina Fabich is a PhD student at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the Department of International Development, where she investigates self-organised humanitarian and health actors, with a regional focus on Latin America. She holds a Joint Master's in Public Health in Disasters from the Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and the University of Oviedo, Spain, and a Bachelor's in Global Nutrition and Health from University College Copenhagen, Denmark, with a minor from the University of Applied Sciences Fulda in Human Rights Studies in Politics, Law and Society. She has previously worked at the Pan American Health Organisation/World Health Organisation (PAHO/WHO) in Peru, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in Sweden, the University of Gießen, and the search and rescue organisation ResQship in Germany. Her previous research has focused on climate change-induced mobility of Indigenous Peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean, Tamil migrant organisations' health projects during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the interlinkages between inclusive health interventions and peacebuilding in conflict-affected settings.
