| Bio | Fahad Rahaman Azhor is a development strategist whose career spans humanitarian response, social research, and private‑sector engagement. He holds a Master of Development Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals and a BA in English from Khulna University. In his role as Business Development Associate at the Institute of Informatics and Development (IID), Fahad identifies and tracks high‑impact funding opportunities, maintains an up‑to‑date donor database, and crafts compelling concept notes, technical proposals, and capability statements. Prior to joining IID, Fahad served as Manager of Skills and Employment for USAID’s Bijoyee Project at JAAGO Foundation Trust, where he led youth employability initiatives, brokered collaborations with private sector entities to open pathways for NEET youth, and shaped policy advocacy efforts for workforce inclusion. He then consulted with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society to review and draft volunteer management policies aligned with IFRC frameworks, translating frontline volunteer insights into robust, scalable guidelines for national humanitarian operations. Beyond business development, Fahad has designed and overseen scoping studies and sectoral assessments for organizations such as SwissContact, Water.org, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit, and the International Finance Corporation. His research portfolio, from examining industrial automation’s impact on garment workers to mapping collective memory of the 1947 Partition and analyzing volunteer engagement during the COVID‑19 response, demonstrates his ability to integrate qualitative and quantitative methods to inform evidence‑based policy and program design. Recognized as a Future Fellow of the IFRC Solferino Academy and winner of the IFRC Global Innovation Challenge in 2023, Fahad blends rigorous evidence‑based research with hands‑on program design to drive inclusive, data‑driven solutions. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Red Cross Red Crescent South Asia Youth Network, leading regional youth initiatives across eight countries to foster collaboration, innovation, and inclusive community action. |
